“We have not journeyed across the centuries, across the oceans, across the mountains, across the prairies, because we are made of sugar candy.” – Winston Churchill

This year is going in my memories as a learning experience.

Not that every year isn’t an opportunity to learn, but this one has been a zinger.

Still, if one looks at history, everything goes in cycles.

Momma told me about growing up in the Dust Bowl days – and here we are again. There’s saber rattling and threats of global war. (I hope we’re not headed there again.)

How can we take the best of what’s old and new to create a better future? How do we find our inner strength in a world that seems to be intent on grinding us down?

Start with intention, and taking daily steps to reach your goals. Add random acts of kindness, because helping others lifts the spirits of both parties. Share your knowledge, because we need real teachers with life experience, not watered down AI generated drivel.

We are not made of sugar candy. It’s time for positive changes.

All our best to you and yours,

Laurie (and August IV, August V, and Duncan)
